BRITISH TELEVISION IN SPAIN
Television channels such as BBC 1,2,3,4 ITV1,2,3,4 channel 4 ,5 and all the Sky programmes are available in Spain, by receiving them via a satellite dish and a decoder such as a Sky digibox or a free to view receiver.
Using the correct equipment is vital for receiving the television programmes in perfect clarity and also being able to view the channels all the time. This is due to the signal strength of certain channels such as BBC1 being a weak signal here in Spain especially on the Costa Blanca.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
SATELLITE DISH
The dish size and quality is very important depending on what area you live in for example a 1.9mtr dish in Valencia is necessary to receive all the channels perfectly.
Further south in Denia and its surrounding areas a 2.4mtr dish is needed to receive correct viewing. It is vital to have the correct size of dish for your area.
However you can receive British TV via a small dish such as a 85cm dish. Channels such as Sky news, Discovery, National Geographic and many other channels are very strong signals so are available on a small dish.

DIGIBOXES
The Sky digibox or free to view receiver that you have or need is very important for your viewing requirements . There are many different types, makes and models on the market so it is vital to choose correctly.
For example the Pace 430n and the Thomson 14214 Sky receivers are strong receivers so they are ideal to deal with the weaker channels.
Other types of digiboxes and free to view boxes are also sufficient in Spain such as the fabulous Sky+ box. The Sky+ box enables you to watch one channel and record a different channel at the same time, or you can pause and then rewind live TV so you can carry on from where you left it. You can also record your favourite programmes while you are out and watch them at a later date.
All these features are also now available with the latest HD (HIGH DEFINITION) box which gives you extra channels in and an amazing picture quality.
